Honey 14:

For Windows, Android and Linux, NO MACOS!

Honey is a chess engine developed by Michael Byrne and it's the winner of the September 2021 tournament.

This engine has different features making it weaker so that a human can play against it. "Local testing at search depth 1 and with tactical set to 3 indicates a strength of 1700+ FIDE at Blitz time controls", says the author. "Turning Variety Play on will reduce strength about 100 Elo. Adaptive play will automatically force the engine to play weaker if it gets ahead. Similar to variety, it can be used in conjunction with variety play which would weaken engine play by another 75 to 100 Elo. Using both Adaptive Play and Variety together, at an Elo setting of 1300, Honey will play around 900 to 1000 Elo. Adaptive play was designed for beginner/weaker players who find the lowest Elo settings too hard."

Ironically designed to play weak, this engine is the strongest I've tested so far playing with the default settings. Honey uses 'Pure' as default value for UseNN, I guess it's the only one doing it.
